Yes in case of an outage it does forward to your cell or other line. A little touchier point is that if for some reason your child had to use 911, the address doesn't register so the baby better know your address. Thats what scares me. I love my VOIP, but I do begin every call with a pre-emptive apology for the inevitable cutout.
